Oman and Kuwait have both declared public and private sector employees will be given time off.

This year, the Islamic calendar holiday of Israa Wal Miraj, which is observed on the 27th night of Rajab 1444, occurs on the 18th of February. It is the night that Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) travelled from the Masjid Al Haram in Makkah to its goal, the Mosque Al Aqsa in Jerusalem.

According to the news agencies of both nations, Oman and Kuwait have declared that the 19th of February, 2023 would be a holiday for workers in the public sector as well as in the private sector.

Nevertheless, the United Arab Emirates will not observe the event by designating a holiday for it.

It was stated far back in 2019 that inhabitants of the UAE will no longer be granted any public holidays on the occasion of Israa Wal Miraj. Instead, the length of the vacations for Eid al-Adha and Eid al-Fitr was extended.

The dates for Eid al-Fitr range from the 29th of Ramadan to the 3rd of Shawwal, as specified in the official holiday calendar that was authorised by the UAE Government. This would occur from Thursday, April 20, all the way through Sunday, April 23, if the estimates from astronomy are accurate. The moon sighting will determine the actual dates.

The dates for the Eid al-Adha festival, also known as Arafah Day and Eid al-Adha, are as follows: Tuesday, June 27, through Friday, June 30.
